SUMMARY OF BUSINESS:

Tire Visions, Inc. ("TVI") was incorporated in June, 2003 for the purpose of acquiring business opportunities in the tire shredding and recycling industry, and currently seeks to develop an operation which manufactures crumb rubber from the recycling of scrap tires. From the millions of newly scrapped tires that become available each year, two products consisting of crumb rubber and steel scrap will be produced and subsequently sold as feedstock to various manufacturers of a wide range of end products including both stand-alone products and products that require installation. According to Scrap Tire News Online in February, 2003 over 270 million scrapped and discarded tires are available to be processed annually in the United States. In our more immediate geographical region, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has indicated more than thirteen million tires are scrapped and available for processing each year in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania alone. With this type of volume, it can be inferred that the business life expectancy of this proposed business will be indefinite.

The selected lease site north of Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania was previously used originally as the main complex of a mining operation by Greenwood Collieries, which was a subsidiary of Pennsylvania Mines Corporation, which itself is a subsidiary of PPL Utilities. The property to be leased to TVI includes buildings of more than 42,000 square feet located on slightly less than 11.50 acres, and while located in a secluded area, it is sufficiently close to major highway access. A description of the property and a map of the general area are shown in Exhibit "A". This proposed reuse of the property for development of a new crumb rubber recycling business represents a positive step for continued redevelopment of former industrial property within northern Cambria County

The operations of the business will be performed internally, although selected operations or services may be purchased from third parties as necessary. A summary processing flow sheet of the main parts of the proposed operations is attached as Exhibit "B". Arrangements have been discussed with a number of companies for the marketing and sale of crumb rubber and steel scrap, and as part of these discussions, TVI has received four letters of interest from crumb rubber purchasers to take selected quantities of crumb rubber products at a specified (market) price. This volume of crumb rubber effectively represents more than 125% of the forecasted production levels.

The business will consist of the importation of scrap tires for a tipping fee followed by the shredding, separation of metals and subsequent packaging for shipment of the crumb rubber. The steel scrap will similarly be collected and packaged for shipment to steel mill customers. These processes will require the use of rotary shear shredders and granulators for the recycled tires, screens and conveyors for the sizing of the product, and the use of magnets for the extraction of the scrap metal.

The annual business projection is attached as Exhibit "C" and assumes a very short period of start-up operations, after which annual crumb rubber production is expected to level off at more than 17,000 tons of crumb rubber annually. At these forecasted levels of production and based on assumptions listed in the attached projections, TVI expects to realize the following annual production levels in the first full year of operation:

Truck 20,280 tons (405,600 tires)

Automobile 3,380 tons (338,000 tires)

Annual Revenues $ 4,445,545

Annual Expenses $ 2,255,764

Annual Net Income (AT) $ 1,201,747

This business plan outlines the need for the development of bank loans supported by USDA Business Development Programs to fund the start of operations and purchase of equipment, for working capital financing supported by accounts receivable and inventory as generated by the business, and the use of limited equity capital. Assistance from state and county business development agencies will be developed as needed and as available. Some of the used equipment, such as the shredders and other crumb rubber equipment will be obtained through capital equipment loans to be acquired by TVI through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and in other instances, through private loans.

Both state and county development agencies, particularly the Northern Cambria Community Development Corporation (NORCAM) and the Cambria County Industrial Development Authority, have been very supportive of the project with the anticipated creation of more than 35 full-time hourly and salaried jobs.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will be requested to provide a General Permit for Processing/Beneficial Use for Residual Waste, specifically for the processing of waste tires. Additionally, TVI intends to employ a local consulting firm for the preparation of all permit applications and for any required follow-ups with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Heelo to all,

I have been quietly searching for funding for my business for 4 years now, to no avail. Just can't seem to find the right investor. Oh, I had had a few potential investors:

The "professional co-worker/friend" that took my money and tried to screw me for $15,000.00. Took me 2 years to get my money back plus interest, court costs and lawyers fees all paid by him. Lesson learned.

The "investor with money" that said he was interested. Needed 3 months to tie up some loose ends and then decided (3 months later) that he wasn't interested after all. Another lesson learned.

I can't openly advertise for investors locally. I have to do it quietly. If my plans get out, others in town will jump on the idea and I will be out in the cold.

I have posted on Go4Funding.com. All the replies so far are offering advice or don't check out.

Here is my plan for a business.

Hi, our company has secured exclusive rights and license agreement for UK, all of Europe including Russia and Turkey, with one of Asia's leading luxury fashion and lifestyle brands (est. 18 yrs). The brand has various sub-labels and product ranges, addressing different price points and catering for both men and women.

We are now in a position to launch, having completed the ground work, project planning and external links. We now need finance to launch the project. Is this nuts....or is it just me?

Okay...let me try to describe what is going on here, as 2 of my friends are debating this scenario with me. One of them has been a reasonably successful upscale home builder in the US for over 20 years.

They have a preferential position on the acquisition of some land in the Caribbean (DR). This is due to a multi year relationship with the landowner. Suffice to say, they could buy in to a piece of land at 20-30% less than current market value.

They are looking to develop and build a very high quality townhome and private villa community with a golf course.

Regardless, other than the relationship with the landowner, they have no money. One of them has worked for the last year or so (and probably spent $100K or so) putting together a master plan, meeting with 5-star architects, engineers, water treatment people, real estate sales and marketing companies, etc.

Total project expense is projected at $325-350 million.

Total project income is projected at $450 million.

I have seen the numbers, and agree with these estimates.

Problem is....they need about $30-40 million to get started. Infrastructure, excavation, etc.

Here's the debate....

* my opinion is that they are kidding themselves to think they can raise that type of money, with none of their own invested.

* they feel that since they have a complete presentation, including financial projections and a preferential position on the land, that they will be able to borrow the money from "somewhere". Either a bank loan "guaranteed" by a "backer", or from a "hard money" lender(s). Obviously, they are willing to repay the note inside of 4-5 years, with interest (10% ?)PLUS 30% of the net ($35 million?) to the backer. According to them, they have a "committment" from a NYC hedge fund to do the deal....but no meetings or money has materialized yet (it's been a month).

I say "BS". What do you say?

n September 7th, 2007, Hurricane Felix had groundfall in Nicaragua as a Category 5 Hurricane and winds up to 160 mph. This caused immense destuction to the Central American countries of Nicaragua and the Honduras. This hurricane turned virgin rainforest into a tree cemetary. In order to allow the rainforest to grow again these trees need to be harvested. This also will provide a third world country income to rebuild and eliminates a huge fire hazard. Because of the size of the devastastion and the amount of timber that needs to be harvested they are selling 1000 shares at $10,000 each for a total of $10,000,000. Most of this money will be used to purchase equipment to harvest the lumber. Estimates exceed 2,500,000 cubic meters of lumber with a market value of $1 Billion. The investors' share is projected to be $175,000,000 or $175,000 per share.

I have been granted a patent that will need updating when the production prototype is finished. The production prototype would require about three months to complete and it would include all the relevent suppliers of parts and supplies.

The sales potential is about 2 billion dollars per year in the U.S. alone. The compitition is limited to two companies that control the entire market and by their own studies will not wish to convert to a newer technology. Their own study shows that this product will capture 80 percent of the market if it reaches it.

The problem I have is that I am an inventor, not a money finder. I don't move in those circles and don't know how to even start getting their attention. I have tried many times in the past without any luck except to attact the scammers.

I need someone who is willing to foot the upfront cost of the production prototype and acquire all the expansion capital required. The enitial prototype was in operation for a year and proved to be quite impressive to all that saw it. The problem with a product of this size is the amount of expansion funds that must be available. Once the demand for the product is established by actual exposure to the trucking industry, any delay in getting the product to the buyers will result in start-ups that will look for a way to get into the demand. Only a well financed company could maintain its "first out" advantage and would not have to worry about any start-up competing with it.

I have a very comprehensive business plan backed by 30 plus years of designing, manufacturing and marketing this type of product to another industry. I am looking for someone, or company, that can supply the management while I share in the development and marketing. I wish to retire in a few years and would like to see the product completed with an eye on future income.

We are a property renovation company located in Illinois. We have flipped over 40 houses in the past 9 months, always making a great profit.

We worked under an investor who would send us to look for properties that were foreclosed or FSBO. We would walk through and provide him with a budget and photos of the property. If he decided he wanted to purchase the property, he would take a loan for the house and the budget for the rehab. We would flip the property and have it on the market within 25 days, 80% of the time closing before the 30th day. After closing, the investor would take the money that he provided to us along with a percentage of the profit. We always made a very nice profit on the properties.

Our investor has since retiring and we are looking for a new investor or business partner.

We have several homes in the area that we have walked through and done research on, some we have done inspections on as well. All homes are under 30,000 with a 10,000-20,000 rehab budget and comps are ranging from 90,000-160,000.

We would like to get started on one of these before they are no longer on the market.

We have references, including our past investor, and pictures of our past flips for reference.

Advice on how to reach the correct investor

We are the owners of the domain www.mail.com.uy (.com.uy is the domain for Uruguay, South America) and we are looking for an investor to develop our project on the site.

The plan is to create, at first, a web portal with local news, online games, chat, blogs and, of course an email server. Then other services will come along like selling advertising for other web pages, offering streaming online content and even our own internet access.

Uruguay is a small country with 3 300 000 inhabitants where more than 50% of them are internet users (according to official sources). The main email service providers have no antispam filters and offer low drive capacity and that is the main cause for the need of a new free local email service.

Running costs will be low (we are a cheap country) and the initial investment should be around US$ 100 000 - 150 000. That should be enough for, at least the first year of operation.

I have been browsing past posts and have realized that such amount is considered small, too small to ask a VC for it and too big for me to raise between friends and relatives, so where should I go for financing?

We are a new company that recycles scrap tires. Tire dealers pay us to take the garbage tires. We then shred the tires to what is called "3/4 minus" which is chips of rubber 3/4 of an inch and smaller. We have purchase orders for the 3/4 minus product and we also have more tires than needed. The government has banned asbestos products for the past year in South Africa and the production of asbestos for the past 3 years.

Normal building columns are made of asbestos that are still being imported today because the only other product used is fibrecement from Everite with also quite a lot of quality problems.

As I am a Rep and product specialist I have seen the need for that products and the huge demand.

I have a lot of retailers and developers that will grab this product the column is made of glass fibre concrete that I have tested with over 1600kg of concrete in it. Over 1000 columns where sold by our current company.

But unfortunately the company I am employed by do not want to take on more products because they already manufacture over 1600 different items.

As I where also doing the costing for the company I have found out all the opposition prices and with a markup on total cost of 150%+ the potential is enormous.

But with this product alone it will take 2 years and 11 months to break even so I had to add a service complementing this service.

With a data base with over 4800 potential customers and a few definite customers I will buy from my current employer.

With his huge range at a discount of 30% and resell at his current price which give me a markup of between 30 to 42 % as these customers are currently buying somewhere else or the only know me and not the company my bridges will not be burned with my current employer. With something else to add I have spoken to other precast companies who will cast for me in my own moulds at a cost of 75c per Kg the market selling price is R2.20.

With this other products added that require no stockholding or stockyard the breakeven will be reduced to 10 months.

Big projects that I have success fully completed on the precast include the Polana Casino in Maputo, Eco Boulevard in Centurion, also the Centaury hotel in Tanzania.

The Capital I will need is R2 000 000.00 (+-$290 000.00) with a stake of 2.5% in each R100 000.00 ($14 000.00) invested.

As the design of the mix and the method is my brainchild another person is not likely to do the same product of the same quality by inspecting my column.

These will suite a sleeping investor/partner or an active hands-on investor/partner.

Just curious ... we have an introductory meeting with a VC soon. Their average investment size is way more than I would even know what to do with.
But my personal exit strategy lies at about 20% what their minimum investments are.

So just wondering if its common for a VC to buy 100% of a company ...?
Or is that an unrealistic thought?
