I'll try to take a look at it. I think the only Mac where I work is in marketing at the graphic designers desk.

RE: Movie Maker

Have you seen Apple's iDVD? If not, go to an Apple store and ask someone to demo it for you. Simply amazing. I was thinking of something along those lines.

RE: Movie Maker

So you are talking more of a enter photo's as a "story board" and having the software generate a movie about it? sounds a bit to complex and not really what I think people are looking for.

Just having the movie stuff work in a web browser will be hard enough.

RE: Movie Maker

Combine this with an online photo gallery that lets people upload their vacation pics. The system would generate several styles of "movies" similar to the way Apple's iDVD works. My father subjects our entire family to 5 minute long DVDs of his bird watching adventures whenever he gets back from one of his trips. iDVD is a very impressive application. It allows amateurs to create very impressive and professional movies based off of templates. With more traditional applications making it to the web (photo gallery builders, web page editors, even QuickBooks has their online edition <a href="http://www.vcfodder.com/?PAGE=39" target=_"blank" class="SmlLinks">http://www.vcfodder.com/?PAGE=39) I think it makes a lot of sense to see more "sovereign" web-based applications.

Ben

Movie Maker

Project Name: Movie Maker

Project Description: Movie Maker is a web app that allows people to use a free 3D rendering engine and prop database to let people make their own short films. It will also have the ability to let people create their own sets and props to add to an online database for other people to use. the movies will then be hosted on the website and users can send out links to their friends to go and watch their little shorts.

The site will make money by selling advertising and "product placement" in the movies. Preferred accounts will also be available that will unlock advanced features and allow people to store more movies.
